The imar branch's mastery node (tier 5); its prerequisite is Order and it can be researched only if you chose imar as your doctrine — if you chose another branch's doctrine, this node stays locked forever (Research and the tech tree).
Unlocks nothing, gives a passive
kanun unlocks no building or unit; it carries a single passive, seen in the table above's Effects row, that takes effect the moment it is known.
A city in revolt normally produces no income at all (Victory conditions); for a player who knows kanun, a city in revolt keeps producing a share of its normal output from every resource, with the remainder rounded down.
When to research it
This is a late-game node: you need to have finished the four tiers ahead of it (Scholarship, Commerce, Endowment, Order) and committed to the imar doctrine. For a player who deals with revolt often — conquering on the frontier, or repeatedly taking a rival's cities — it is the node with the biggest payoff.
