Scholarship

The first tier of the imar branch, with no prerequisite — you can queue it directly in any of your cities.

What it unlocks

It unlocks Madrasa and Guild: one speeds up research, the other cheapens the rush rate. Since both come from the same node, researching ilim is the first step toward carrying the rest of the branch cheaper and faster.

When to research it

If you are heading into the imar branch, this is the first node — Commerce lists it as a prerequisite. Finishing ilim early and building the Medrese makes it easier to keep up with later nodes' prices with your production rate (Research and the tech tree).
